Ride 16 starts in Del Norte and continues along the Rio Grande river to Alamosa. The ride is 30.24 miles and goes through Monte Vista, which was a major trading post on the Spanish Peak Trail. Between 1830 and 1848, the Trail was a major trade route running between Santa Fe, NM and Los Angeles, CA.
