On Friday, July 18, we finished our ride over Loveland Pass and headed over to Copper Mountain. Copper Mountain was again the host for the 25th Annual Courage Classic, where we would be riding our final ride on our own Courage Tour of Colorado on Saturday. Once the Team settled in, we went the registration area and received our CC jersey numbers and designations. Bryan was rider 3333, which is a double of his favorite number (33)—the number he wears as a hockey goalie. The bigger number he received was Bike Designation #1 —which he received for being the TOP fundraiser in the 2013 Courage Classic! This year, he has shattered his own record. But more about that in another post...
After ringing the opening bell, he was greeted by many members of the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation, the group that creates and oversees the Courage Classic each year. He also met another special child, Lily Winsett, the wonderful daughter of Steve Winesett, President and CEO of the Children's Foundation. Lily was excited and ready to ride!
Back at HQ, Madi, Bryan's girlfriend, decided to dress up as "Bryan" and surprise him with a characterization of himself. He cracked up at the sight, and she hammed it up for good measure. Spirits were high as we prepared for the final ride from Dillion to the Courage Classic finish line on Saturday.
